2019 – Green and Affordable Credit Facility
In partnership with the European Investment Bank, Heimstaden Bostad secured SEK 3 billion to support the development of affordable, energy-efficient homes in Sweden. The project also includes community infrastructure such as libraries and elderly care housing.
2020 – Green Financing Initiatives
In 2020, Heimstaden Bostad strengthened its green financing portfolio across several markets. In Denmark, we secured a Green credit facility with Handelsbanken, requiring Energy Class A properties, and additional Green Loans via Danske Bank, Nordea, and Nykredit to finance sustainable housing. That same year, Heimstaden Bostad AB issued its first Green senior unsecured bond, raising SEK 1.2 billion. The bond follows our Green Bond Framework, which received a ‘Medium Green’ rating from CICERO Shades of Green.
2023 – Sustainability-Linked Financing
Heimstaden Bostad raised EUR 700 million through sustainability-linked financing in the Czech Republic, supported by a consortium of banks and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The funds support investments in thermal insulation, heat pumps, and renewable energy. We have committed to annual targets covering three KPIs: improving EPC ratings, reducing CO₂ emissions, and increasing housing for socially vulnerable groups.
